The objective is that of restoring to the Balôn the image it deserves, that of a window opening out on to many worlds that live in parallel with the official one, as part of a positive synergy, that of a place of adventure, with different colours and cultures. In recent years, however, this image has been overcast by a situation of insecurity and urban decay. With the intention of recovering the area The Gate Project has promoted a series of financial incentives for commercial businesses in the area that intend to requalify the space outside their premises:

• To date seven commercial activities have been financed (including activities that have already finished the works, activities which are carrying them out or those which are about to start). The financed activities are situated in the area of via Borgo Dora, via Mameli and via Andreis.
• External facades of the activities, signs, windows, lighting, frames, roofs.
• Cost of intervention: so far approx. 1.5 billion lire have been invested. The Gate Project has contributed with an average financing of 45%
• The interventions have been implemented starting from the end of 1999 up to the present day.
