WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Ministerial Decree no. 225/1998, known as the
"Bersani Decree", has set aside funds to facilitate the creation
of new small and medium sized companies and help modernise those already
existing in areas with particular socio-economic features.The City of
Turin has identified 7 areas, including the Porta Palazzo area (C.so
Regina Margherita, Via Cigna, Lungo Dora Napoli, C.so Principe Oddone.
Via Saint Bon, C.so Emilia, C.so Giulio Cesare, Lungo Dora Firenze,
C.so Regio Parco, Galleria Umberto1°). To access the funds it is
necessary to take part in a public Call for applications managed by
Finpiemonte in whch the access criteria, types of intervention and admissible
costs are all laid down. The facilitation consists in the provision
of a sinking fund contribution equal to 50% of the investment with a
maximum of 50,000,000 Lire.The company, Società ASCOT, on behalf
of the Porta Palazzo Project Committee, has carried out accompaniment
activities providing assistance in the compilation of the applications
to all those who have contacted the Committee offices to take part in
the Call for applications.

The contribution of the last edition for the Porta Palazzo area comes
to 1.450.000.000 Lire (748.862,50 )
For the 2000 edition 34 companies have been assisted by the Gate Offices.
Of these
31 have been put on the list of those eligible for the contribution,
2 have withdrawn and 1 has proved to be non-eligible.
Of 31 companies:
16 are new openings of which
13 have been newly founded with 3 coming from other areas of the city.
15 involve interventions for renewal or extension of companies already
present in the area.
