Extra-informa means to inform or even more, to animate. The action focuses on young foreigners in the district with the aim of creating forms of aggregation and animation, trying to get closer to their lives, together thinking about training, cultural, sports or ludic activities, building a bridge between The Gate Project and the foreign population in the district.How?

• By stimulating the creation of groups and associations in the district and offering the said groups technical, logistical and organisational support.
• By creating training, sports, cultural and recreational moments aimed at young groups identified in the district, in order to encourage and experiment forms of youth protagonism and self-management.
• By creating two large events, the first of a cultural-gastronomic-musical nature, the second of a sports-recreational type.
• By focusing the requests and specific character of the youths towards the multiple resources and activities present in the district and more generally within the whole city.

The project, started in March 2000, finished with a large multicultural celebration in November at the Mossetto Bowling Club, a "historical" place of aggregation in the district and the headquarters for other events in The Gate Project. In this period numerous activities have been conducted by the Valdocco Coop. such as:

• The extension of the multilingual newspaper and magazine library in the Aurora Library in Constituency Zone 7 and the programming of events to promote an awareness of foreign authors;
• The constitution of an Albanian football team and related association;
• The organisation of a course in Italian cuisine for foreigners, in collaboration with the Parini School, the location of courses in Italian for foreigners;
• The collaboration with premises in the district, the Fuori Luogo, for the preparation of theme celebrations on Sunday evenings to help people meet and get to know each other;
• The creation of a world music workshop;
• The organisation of a theatre improvisation workshop at the Youth Centre of the Valdocco coop.;
• Accompaniment to the Employment Office of the Ass. Apoliè (If the economy is social) to exploit and consolidate project synergies;
• The promotion of the ConTESTI da MonDI literary competition for young authors in collaboration with The Youth Literary Observatory of the Council of Turin.
  

Two potential benefits have emerged from the Extra-informa action: on the one hand the discovery of spaces and resources which the district can offer to the aggregation; on the other, the rich fabric of spontaneous aggregation which the district offers around the central activity of the market.
