WHAT IT'S ABOUT
How was Apoliè born?
In 1998 the training course for "Operators for the integration and inclusion in employment of non-EU citizens" was conceived, designed, promoted and organised by SMILE within the context of the Horizon project.During the course some of the participants wanted to form an association in order to be able to respond in an immediate and effective way to the needs of the employment market and growing foreign manpower. In 1999 a convention was stipulated (renewed up to 2001) with The Gate Project within the context of the "If the economy is social" action, with the creation of an employment orientation office.
What is Apoliè?
In May 2000 the office for orientation and accompaniment in setting up companies was formed, called Apolié, a word which indicates both citizens without a country and polié (a traditional Ivory Coast dance).
The office seeks above all to reduce the difficulties experienced in searching for a regular job due, in the majority of cases, to a poor knowledge of the Italian employment market and the mechanisms that govern it.
Phases in the employment structure
The activities aimed at users can be divided into an initial consultancy which consists in a preliminary discussion and the compilation of a first sheet for insertion of information into the databank, verification or compilation of a CV and a possible appointment for subsequent phases. In some cases an appointment for further discussion is fixed in which there is a chance to further explore the first sheet, trying to draw out the implicit aptitudes and abilities and exclude any unrealistic aspirations. We also carry out an analysis of adverts in newspapers, special trade press and multimedia organs.
All this is carried out, depending on the case in question, using the collaboration of cultural mediators (Chinese, Rumanians, Moroccans...)Hence, almost a year after it was founded, thanks to a careful needs analysis, Apolié is able to propose a carefully selected supply to companies and to guarantee a targeted consultancy for each individual. Finally, the association collaborates with the most accredited training agencies within the context of active policies for employment.
