An enormous Infantryman only armed with helmet and rifle is portrayed at the top of a knoll, standing straight up and vigilant even when at rest. No General or hero of an exceptional enterprise is celebrated here, but the anonymous multitude of soldiers who do their duty, simple and solid men who are the robust framework and foundation of any Army in the world.
