Per quanto austero nello stile, il busto a Cesare Battisti riesce a comunicare l’idealismo, la fierezza e la determinazione che caratterizzarono tutta la breve vita del geografo e politico trentino, impiccato dagli austriaci nel 1916 per le sue idee e l’attività irredentista, animata cioè dal desiderio di completare l’unità geografica italiana con quelle parti del Triveneto ancora sotto dominio straniero.

Though austere in style, the bust of Cesare Battisti succeeds in communicating the idealism, pride and determination that permeated the short life of this geographer and statesman from Trento who was hanged by the Austrians in 1916 for his ideas and activities directed at freeing his Region, fired by his desire to complete the geographical unity of Italy with those parts of the Triveneto area still under foreign domination.
