While completing his Dying Napoleon, considered his masterpiece, Vincenzo Vela stops to assess the whole and decide the very last chiselling that will give the statue a life of its own. The monument is not just homage to the man whose works contributed to making up Turin’s image but also a dialogue of the artist and his work, bronze with marble and complete and incomplete shapes.
