“100 cities for 100 projects Italy-Brazil” intends to create a network of cities (institutions and local governments) actively involved in cooperation between Italy and Brazil: many Brazilian and Italian cities have already entered the programme and are part of the 100 city database (see also the Lerici declaration and standard deliberation).
The programme’s primary goal is the promotion of administrative decentralization and decentralized cooperation policies between the Italian and Brazilian cities belonging to the network.
100 cities for 100 projects Italy - Brazil is a “container” programme and has no specific funding. Its purpose is the creation of an institutional and thematic reference framework facilitating partnership relations and the coordination of cooperation projects run by Italian and Brazilian local authorities.
Since 2003, the Municipality of Turin supports it as programme leader on behalf of ANCI; since 2006 the Piemonte Region co-funds it.http://www.progetto100citta.it/
