It’s a Program active from 2005 to 2018, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – with the synergy of the interventions of the World Bank, the Union European and other donors - and intended for strengthening technical, administrative and management skills of Palestinian local authorities. The program has a budget of € 25 million and aims to realise cooperation projects with a partnership between Palestinian local entities and their Italian counterparts.
The Program uses a technical-political structure consisting of a technical structure (ITAU) with headquarters at the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem; a coordination table (Table 4 + 1) made up of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Italian regional and local authorities (such as ANCI, UPI, Regions, Regional Councils); and finally a sole Spokesperson for all Italian entities.
From 2014 to 2018 the City of Turin was an active part in seven different projects located in Hebron, Bethlehem and East Jerusalem.
