The Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Deputy Mayor in charge of the General Masterplan, Urban Policies and Private Building of the City of Torino Stefano Lo Russo led a territorial mission to New York, in the U.S.A.
On February 19th, in the morning, the Mayor and his Deputy gave a speech at the International Trade Agency ICE to present the opportunities for investments in our territory, while in the afternoon, the Mayor and the Marketing Director of Turismo Torino e Provincia Marcella Gaspardone with the support of Eataly, carried out a tourist-promotional presentation followed by a buffet of typical products at the ENITItalian Government Tourist Board of New York.
On February 20th different cultural meetings with the boards of the main museums of New York took, while in the evening Mayor Fassino took part in the 48th edition of the

“Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony”, an event organised by the ASILM, American Society of the Italian of Merit, which regroups personalities who received a decoration from the Italian Republic. The Gala has the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic and celebrates the Italian excellences in the world and people who distinguished themselves the most. On the occasion Mayor Fassino was awarded the "Grand Award of Merit" for his many activities aiming at promoting the image of Italy abroad. The Italian Ambassador at the U.N. Sebastiano Cardi and the Consul General Natalia Quintavalle were also present at the ceremony.
