From June 3rd to 5th 2010, invited by the Mayor of Fès Hamid Chabat, a delegation of the City of Torino, led by the Deputy Mayor of the City of Torino in charge of Culture and of the 150th Anniversary of Italy’s Unification, Fiorenzo Alfieri, travelled to Fès on the occasion of the sixteenth edition of the Holy Music from the World Festival and took part in the opening ceremony in the evening of Friday, the 4th of June.

During its stay in Fès the delegation also took part in a meeting with the Deputy Mayor in charge of the International Affairs of the City of Fès, Allal Amraoui, with the Head of the International Affairs Department, Njuoi Abdelmajid, and with the Head of the Culture Department, Essai Benamer, in order to define the contents and terms related to the signature of a cooperation agreement between Fès and Torino - which had been discussed already on the occasion of the mission of the Mayor Chiamparino and, in March 2010, during the visit of a delegation coming from Fès and led by the Deputy Mayor in charge of Culture, Hicham Chakour. Morover, during the meeting, the enhancement of the relations between Fès and Torino was focused, paying attention to the possible interactions between MI.TO Settembre Musica and the Holy Music from The World Festival, in the presence of the Artistic Director Enzo Restagno.

The organisation of the mission to Fès was coordinated by the International Affairs Department of the City of Torino in collaboration with the City of Fès.
