An heterogeneous delegation, composed of technicians of the City of Torino of the Province of Torino and of AMIAT, went to Bursa within the framework of the EU funded project Household Waste Management for Sustainable Environment aiming at the exchange of knowledge and technical skills in the management of urban waste.
During the stay, from May 19th to 30th 2009, the delegation, welcomed by the Mayor Hikmet Şahin for the greetings on May 21st, had the opportunity, following a thick programme, to meet the competent technicians of the Municipality of Bursa in order to study some issues concerning the west management in the municipality itself, to make on-spot technical inspections to the waste management/treatment/disposal plants, to examine the waste collection activities, to take part to official meetings with political representatives of the Municipality of Bursa, the Municipalities of Mudanya and Osmangazi, the County Environment and Forests Department and the University of Bursa, to participate in study meetings with the Departments in charge of the Agenda 21, to assist to a short presentation made by the Office following the participation of the Municipality of Bursa to European projects.
To the mission in Bursa, within the framework of the same project, follows in June the visit of a Turkish delegation in Torino to deepen the confrontation on the issues developed by the mission during its stay.
