The mission of the Mayor Chiamparino to the Russian Federation made two stops, Ekaterinburg and Moscow, and involved different subjects of the territory such as the Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Handicraft of Torino the Università degli Studi of Torino, the Università degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche and the Politecnico of Torino.

The Mayor Chiamparino went to Ekaterinburg accepting the invitation of the Mayor Chernetsky. In fact, between the two Cities a cooperation agreement was established in 1998 and the Mayor of Ekaterinburg recently led two important territorial missions to Torino (February 2006 and June 2008). Beyond the official meetings, at the City Hall of Ekaterinburg, a presentation of Torino and its territory has been organised for the local press and authorities, with whom the basis have been set up for implementing future cooperation projects within the economic and cultural domains.
The delegation then took part in some meetings at the local athenaeums such as the Ural State University, the Ural State Technical University and the Ural State Economic University with whom new exchange and university cooperation projects have been planned. Finally, the Mayor took part in the Seminar for the tourist promotion of Piedmont, organised by the Foreign Centre for the Internationalisation of Piedmont.

The delegation then moved to Moscow where it took part in the press conference presenting the territory organised by the Strategic Communication and Marketing Department at the Italian Embassy, on the occasion of the International Tourism Fair of Moscow. The delegation also took part, in a promotional perspective, in the dinner of presentation of Piedmont, organised by the Foreign Centre for the Internationalisation of Piedmont. The visit in Moscow has also been the occasion for a meeting, at the City Hall, with the Mayor Luzhov and for some economy-related rendez-vous, among which the one that took place at the Russian chair of Finmeccanica with the President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft.

The mission, which involved the different mentioned subjects of the territory, has been coordinated by the International Affairs Department of the City of Torino in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Moscow and the Municipality of Ekaterinburg.
