A delegation of the City of Torino, led by the Mayor Sergio Chiamparino went to Rumania from the 18th to the 20th of October attending a series of meeting at governmental and local level.
On October 18th and 19th in Bucharest the Mayor of the City of Torino Sergio Chiamparino, the Prefect of Torino Goffredo Sottile, the Deputy Mayor in charge of Family, Health and Social Policies Marco Borgione, the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce Guido Bolatto and the officers of some Departments of the City of Torino went through, in the presence of the Ambassador of Italy in Bucarest Daniele Mancini, several meetings concerning the problems depending on Rumanian immigration in Torino.
The delegation met the followings: the President of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Rumanian Deputy’s Chamber On. Stefan Galvan, the Vice Minister of the Interior Marin Patuleanu, the Undersecretary for Rumanian communities abroad Mihai Gheorghiu, the State Undersecretary and coordinator of the Working Group on social issues Victor Giosan. The Pro-Rector of the Politecnico di Torino Marco Gilli attended meanwhile some meetings in some Bucharest athenaeums.
The delegation also met the Vice General Mayor of Bucharest Grigore Popa, the Chamber of Commerce of Bucharest and the Rumanian Chamber of ommerce. The delegation then reached Bacau where an official dinner took place in the presence of the Mayor of Bacau Romeo Stavarache and of the Prefect of Bacau Gabriel Berca.
The 20th of October was given up to the elaboration of exchange projects between Torino and Bacau. In the morning the Deputy Mayor in charge of the Integration Policies of the City of Torino Ilda Curti, the Deputy Mayor in charge of Family, Helath and Social Policies Marco Borgione, the President of the Gruppo Torinese Trasporti Giancarlo Guiati, the Director of 5T Gianni Foti, the President of Amiat Marco Camoletto, the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce Guido Bolatto, the Pro-Rector of the Politecnico of Torino Marco Gilli and Armando Quazzo for the SMAT group took part in working tables with their homologues from Bacau in order to define future cooperation fields.
In the presence of the press then followed the official ceremony of the signature of a Cooperation Agreement by the Mayors and the Prefects of the two cities. Afterwards was also ratified the entry of the City of Bacau in Quartiers en crise, European network chaired by the Deputy Mayor Ilda Curti.
