The Mayor Chiamparino was received in Athens by the Mayoress Dora Bakoyanni on the occasion of his mission to the Olympic city. The two mayors discussed future cooperation between the two Olympic cities.

During the Hellenic Olympics, Casa Italia Torino 2006, hosted areas set up and managed by the Comune di Torino, in which the Piemontese city presented its historical and architectural gems, and offered a "taste" of the city through its culinary specialities, giving a glimpse of the atmosphere that the athletes, staff and tourists will encounter when they come to Torino to participate in, or attend, the Olympic Winter Games.

Throughout the Athens games, the Aperitivo Torino became a favourite meeting place, with a pool-side bar replicating the ritual of the Torino aperitif. From seven-thirty to nine-thirty every evening, expert barmen served aperitifs and cocktails accompanied by delicious gastronomic specialities. Aperitivo Torino was designed to convey the Torino lifestyle, reproducing the relaxing atmosphere of the historical or trendy bars and cafés, in which to enjoy a prolonged and informal intermission.

The exhibition "Torino and Piemonte emotions to discover", and the film "Torino surprises you" and other videos contributed to revealing the city's secrets.
