Mayor Stefano Lo Russo and Deputy Mayor Councillor for the Ecological and Digital Transition, Innovation, Mobility and Transport Chiara Foglietta attended the award ceremony of the 10th edition of the European Capital of Innovation Awards in Lisbon. Torino has been elected iCapital - European Capital of Innovation 2024, as a European City at the forefront in providing innovative solutions for the benefit of citizens.
Mayor Stefano Lo Russo attended the "Invest in Piedmont" event held in London as part of the World Travel Market, with the aim of promoting the territorial ecosystem to attract quality foreign investment.
Jacopo Rosatelli, Deputy Mayor for Welfare, Rights and Equal Opportunities attended the General Assembly of the European Pride Organisers Association (EPOA) in Porto. On that occasion Torino was chosen as the Host City of Europride 2027.
The Mayor of Torino Stefano Lo Russo and the Deputy Mayor for Ecological and Digital Transition, Innovation, Mobility and Transport Chiara Foglietta participated in the European Mayor’s Summit and the Climate Neutral and Smart Cities Mission Award in Strasbourg. The City of Torino was awarded the Mission Label by the European Commission as a formal recognition of the approval of the Climate City Contract (CCC) the City presented working together with the Polytechnic and other institutional partners.
Mayor Stefano Lo Russo attended the Bloomberg CityLab, an event that brought together over 700 Mayors, political leaders, innovators and creatives in Mexico City. The urban developments of major cities in Latin America were presented and some solutions proposed by local municipalities to reshape their nations were described.
Mayor Stefano Lo Russo attended the Friendship Dialogue and the Economic Forum in Ho Chi Minh City, to strengthen the cooperation with Torino, started in 2015. Sustainability and industrial innovation were some of the topics addressed.
Deputy Mayor for Sport, Tourism and Major Events Domenico Carretta attended in Beijing the annual conference of the World Tourism Cities Federation. During the event the 350 participants from almost 30 countries discussed international tourism strategies. Torino has been a member of the network since 2015.
Mayor Stefano Lo Russo participated in the Future Mobility Forum in Gwangju, the city with which Torino signed a Friendship and Collaboration Pact in April. The event represented an opportunity to discuss with local institutions specialized in technologies, safety plans for future mobility and autonomous driving.
Marco Porcedda, Deputy Mayor for Legality, Municipal Police and Security, Information Systems and Cyber Security traveled to Liège to participate in the final conference of the European project IcARUS entitled "Innovative approaches to urban safety: strengthening crime prevention through social innovation."
The Deputy Mayor for Civil Protection, Public green areas and River Banks Francesco Tresso went to Warsaw for a study visit on river mobility, urban forestry and public space, Nature-based Solutions and to share knowledge, experiences and projects.
The Deputy Mayor in charge for Equal Opportunities and Social Policies, Jacopo Rosatelli, attended the meeting of the ECCAR Steering Committee , the European Coalition of Cities against Racism, illustrating the path that led to the drafting of the Local Anti-Racist Plan, in the framework of the European project SUPER.
The City of Torino, as part of the IcARUS project, took part in the eighth edition of the event organised by the EFUS network in Brussels to discuss the security challenges facing local authorities.
The City of Torino attended the Eurocities Mobility Forum in Utrecht, a conference dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to redesign urban space according to a strategy based on sustainability. The City of Torino brought its experience to the panel "Radically reshaping urban space", shared with the Cities of Utrecht, Rome, Tampere and Ljubljana.
The City of Torino visited the MIPIM in Cannes, the fair that brings together the most influential actors of the international real estate industry. The event was also an opportunity to hold institutional meetings with representatives of other European cities, including Lyon.
The Deputy Mayor for Equal Opportunities and Social Policies of the City of Torino, Jacopo Rosatelli, participated in the international meeting of the FEMACT-Cities project in Vienna, which aims to promote gender equality.
