The Twinning Agreement between Torino and Gaza was signed in 1999 at the end of a process started in 1993 to support the Middle East peace process by promoting a twinning with both an Israeli and a Palestinian city. Upon suggestion of the respective national authorities, Gaza and Haifa were chosen as twin cities.
Today the main exchange activities between Gaza and Torino focus on peace promotion.
The twinning is part of the activities covered by the International Cooperation Service of the City of Torino. Further related contents and initiatives are detailed in the International Cooperation site.
