The Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Deputy Mayor in charge of the General Masterplan, Urban Policies and Private Building of the City of Torino Stefano Lo Russo opened the international convention "Beyond the border. Portraits of 4 European cities for Torino", proposed by Urban Center Metropolitano, Politecnico di Torino, the Order of Architects PPC of the Province of Torino and the Foundation for architecture / Torino.
The convention was about virtuous cases of urban regeneration in Europe, that is to say such initiatives where physical transformation and social-economic development were able to intertwine thus favorising requalification processes of entire districts. The story of what happened in Copenhagen, Lyon, Rotterdam and Marseille was combined with specific focuses on urban issues at the centre of the future development of Torino's metropolitan area.
