The Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Amb. Franco Giordano, Diplomatic Advisor of the City of Torino, presented at the Foyer of the Teatro Regio, the Programme of Torino for the Semester of Italian presidency of the European Union and then the Report 2013 of the International Activities of a city that reaffirms itself as open to Europe and to the world as usual.
In fact, during the month of September, Torino hosted the first events of the rich programme of meetings related to the Semester of Italian presidency of the EU. On September 11th-12th the Political Bureau of the Committee of the Regions met, followed by the international summit Global Ethics and Equal Opportunities: Women's Contribution to the Development of Europe and of the Mediterranean Area from September 11th to 14th, organised by the Unesco Centre on the issue of the relations among women and culture, food and violence. On September 17th and 18th the City of Torino hosted the European Summit of Transport Authority while on September 23rd and 24th took place the international conference Cultural heritage as a common good: towards new models of participated governance of cultural heritage in the third millenium.
Following the presentation of a very rich programme, which is not limited to the sole September, but will keep Torino busy also in the upcoming months, it was then presented also theReport of the International Activities of the City of Torino 2013, now at its tenth edition and finally available online.
