After a short introduction by the co-presidents Giorgio Zappa and Masami Iijima and by the Mayor of Torino Piero Fassino, the XXVI edition of the General Assembly of the Italy-Japan Business Group took place at Palazzo Madama. It was an occasion to analyse the strategies for a large scale economic cooperation between Italy and Japan, supporting a permanent dialogue between the two business communities.
In the IJBG, founded by Umberto Agnelli in 1995 with the main purpose of reinforcing the economic and also non commercial relations between the entrepreneurial communities of Italy and Japan, took also part the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Italian Republic Mario Calenda and the Deputy Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Industry of Japan Norihiko Ishiguri.
Following the meeting, the Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Amb. Franco Giordano, Diplomatic Advisor of the City of Torino, met the Ambassador of Japan in Italy Kazuyoshi Umemoto.
