The Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Deputy Mayor in charge of the General Masterplan, Urban Policies and Private Building of the City of Torino Stefano Lo Russo took part, on March 24th at the City Hall, in the press conference opening the European project Social Integration Through Urban Growth Strategies - SINERGI. In the press conference and in the following two working days took part also the technical partners of the city within the project: Politecnico of Torino, Urban Center Metropolitano and Istituto Superiore sui Sistemi Territoriali per l'Innovazione.
The recently approved European project Social Integration Through Urban Growth Strategies, presented by Torino, together with the cities of Skopje, Dijon and Zagreb under the Europe for Citizens programme, is about the active involvement of the citizenship in urban transformation processes and aims at building a cooperation network of administrations, experts, civic associations, which could produce experiences and knowledge on the issues of participation and inclusion of citizens in the fields of urban design and management of transformations, thanks to case studies and the definition of good practices.
