It was held at the Foyer of the Teatro Regio, in the presence of the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Ambassador Jan Eliasson, the Torino Leadership Forum. The initiative was originated by a project of the United Nations Staff College and the City of Torino aiming at celebrating those personalities having realised local initiatives of great global impact.
The Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Director of the Staff College Jafar Javan opened the event Christien Brandt, cofounder of She's the First, Kavita Parmar of The IOU Project, Carlo Petrini, President of Slow Food and Hajo van Beijma, founder of Text To Change received the Torino Leadership Award.
