To celebrate the anniversary of the twinning signed in 2005, Torino organized the Nagoya Days, a series of activities aimed at consolidating the knowledge between the two communities.
The program opened with a seminar organized by the Chambers of Commerce of Torino and Nagoya focused on commercial relations between Italy and Japan.
The Torino City Hall hosted the hybrid official ceremony of the twinning, which was attended by Mayor Stefano Lo Russo, the Ambassador of Japan to Italy Hiroshi Oe and from Nagoya Mayor Takashi Kawamura as well as by several representatives of local institutions of both cities.
The Washoku Japanese culture & food fest, an event dedicated to the "Nagoya meshi" gastronomic tradition, took place at the Porta Palazzo Central Market. Furthermore, the Mole Antonelliana was illuminated with the logo of the twinning between the two cities and the MAO - Museum of Oriental Art inaugurated the exhibition "Kakemono. Five centuries of Japanese painting".
