December 21st 2020 Cooperation Pact with Volgograd
Updated 2-25-2021
The Mayor of Torino Chiara Appendino and the Mayor of Volgograd Vitaly Likhachev remotely signed a Pact that provides for collaborations between the two cities in the economic, academic and cultural domains.
The relations between Torino and Volgograd originate from the common historical events linked to the resistance opposed by both cities during the occupation of the Nazi military forces in the Second World War. Since the 1960s, the two municipalities have implemented fruitful joint initiatives, with exchanges of official delegations. At the end of the 1970s, relations broke off and resumed in recent years.
