The City Council Room hosted the ceremony awarding the City of Torino the title of "Europeanist City", granted by the San Pio V Institute of Political Studies in Rome. The Institute, in the framework of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome, promoted the research "Europe of Municipalities" aiming at finding good practices in the relations between local authorities and European Union in order to study the effects the EU policies have on citizens. The research included Italian cities with a population of at least 50,000. The results outlined that the City of Torino is the municipality in Northern Italy which most showed a pro-European vocation, organizing events, signing twinnings, carrying out European projects and participating in European networks. The Mayor of the City of Torino Chiara Appendino, the Chairman of the City Council Fabio Versaci and the President of the San Pio V Institure attended the award ceremony.
