The Vice Mayor of the City of Torino Guido Montanari, together with the Dean of the Università di Torino Gianmaria Ajani and the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Torino, Vincenzo Ilotte, started the works of the 3rd Turin Islamic Economic Forum.
The focus of the third edition was the exploitation of Islamic finance to trigger social inclusion processes in the suburbs and to support the internationalisation of Piedmontese small and medium enterprises especially in the fields of renewable energies, biotech and aerospace. During the Tief, ten sessions were foreseen with detailed studies and debates involving fifty speakers, from public administrators to university researchers and teachers, entrepreneurs and finance experts. For the City of Torino, besides the Mayor Chiara Appendino, also took part in different moments of the Forum The Deputy Mayor in charge of Integration, Equal Opportunities and Youth Policies Marco Giusta, the Deputy Mayor in charge of Social Policies Sonia Schellino, the Deputy Mayor in charge of Commerce, Labour, Tourism, Contracts, Procurement, Supplies and Legal Affairs Alberto Saccoand the Deputy Mayor in charge of Sport Roberto Finardi.
TIEF 2017 was realised by the City of Torino in cooperation with Turismo Torino e Provincia and in partnership with the University of Torino, the Chamber of Commerce of Torino and ASSAIF-Association for the Development of Alternative Tools for Financial Innovation.
