The City of Torino took part in the seminar "Metropolitan areas international strategies" that took place in Barcelona on July 7th and 8th 2016. The seminar aimed at stimulating a debate among professional from Europe, North and South America, on the role of international affairs within the public administration (focusing on the governments of large metropolitan areas) and on the related strategies that cities have been developing in the last years.
On July 7th the closed-door session "Metropolitan areas and the global agenda: the international relations strategies of big cities and metropolitan areas as a public policy" was held and the City of Torino presented the internationalisation strategies that have been developed in the last 15 years by outlining how the international dimension was tackled by the Strategical Plans of the city (2000,2006,2015).
On July 8th instead, an open meeting summed up the contents discussed the day before and portrayed the experiences of the participating cities to a larger public.
