The Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino opened the second edition of the summit of the European metropolitan authorities, organised by the City of Torino, the Metropolitan City of Torino and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona. The meeting represented an opportunity to discuss about the role of metropolitan areas in supporting economy, occupation, innovation and investments. The goal of the confrontation was to create a Europe wide support for an effective metropolitan governance. Among the metropolitan authorities that took part in the debate: Oslo, Budapest, Lyon, Lisbon, Nice, Bilbao, Thessaloniki, Vienna, Tirana.
