Within the framework of MITO SettembreMusica at the Teatro Regio the European premiere of Il ragazzo del risciò, Chinese opera with Italian supertitles based on the novel of the same title by Lao She, one of the greatest authors in Chinese modern literature. The author of the score is composer Guo Wenjing, who studied at Beijing Conservatory and became famous for his skill in merging the ancient Chinese musical language with the one of Occidental music.
