Torino hosted the 3rd World Forum on Local Economic Development, an important opportunity to think and discuss about the role of Local Economic Development in the light of the new Agenda post-2015 which tackles the objectives for a sustainable development in the next 15 years. Torino welcomed 1500 delegates from over 70 Countries, representing local, regional, national and international authorities, the academic world and companies.
In particular the Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Deputy Mayor in charge of Labour, Commerce, Productive Activities of the City of Torino Domenico Mangone met, in different moments of the week: the Mayor of Volgograd, the Mayor of Bethlehem, the Mayor of Belo Horizonte, the Mayor of Calgary, the Mayor of Dakar, the Vice Mayor of Hebron, the Minister of Local Government of the Palestinian Territories, the Mayor of Maputo, the Mayor of Tunis, a delegation of Hefei, a delegation of Cuba and the Ambassador of Cuba in Italy, a delegation of Saint Petersburg, the Ambassador of Morocco in Italy, the Mayor of Beit Sahour, the Mayor of Beit Jala.
