The Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Deputy Mayor in charge of the General Masterplan, Urban Policies and Private Building of the City of Torino Stefano Lo Russo went on a mission to London four a double institutional meeting.
In the morning of November 13th the Mayor Piero Fassino participated in the London summit on urban infrastructures organised by The Economist in order to share the experience of Torino in terms of urban planning and transformations, contributing to the discussion on innovative perspectives and approaches. In the conference, among the others, took part also the Mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino, the Mayor of Porto Rui Moreira, the Mayor of Göteborg Anneli Hulthén and the one of Bristol George Ferguson.
In the afternoon of November 13th and on November 14th the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor took part in the Awarding Ceremony of the academy of Urbanism. The City of Torino was among the finalists, as "European City of the Year", together with the Cities of Aarhus and Rotterdam. The latter one was awarded with the prize.
