UNICRI, UN-Habitat and the City of Torino organized at the United Nations Campus the International Forum of Mayors on Crime Prevention and Security, opened by a speech of the Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino, to share best practices and useful information to tackle the difficult challenges related to urban safety. Local authorities, international experts, private sector, foundations, as well as several foreign cities were invited to share the respective experiences on the dynamics of security in urban contexts, on the affirmation of the legality principle and on the reduction of vulnerabilities thanks to effective public-private partnerships.
