Within the framework of the Natale coi Fiocchi programme, the city centre turned into the ideal setting for the creation of wonderful statues from large raw ice cubes, realized by ice sculptors coming from Harbin to Torino in virtue of the Friendship Protocol signed by the two Cities in 2003, thus also ensuring a follow-up to the participation of the City of Torino in January 2012 to the 28th edition of the China Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival and to the first meeting of the World Cities' Ice and Snow Tourism Council.

The City of Torino presented its support to the UNESCO programme La Voz de Los Sin Voz, which aims at preserving and popularizing the ritual and traditional expressions of Latin American music and dance. As side events to the presentation the well known pianist Miguel Angel Estrella, creator of the programme and Argentinean Ambassador at the UNESCO since 2004, gave a concert at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica G. Verdi di Torino, while the day before the ambassador of Italy in Argentina Torquato di Tella presented his book "Le forze popolari nella politica argentina. Una storia" at the Circolo dei Lettori.

25 years after his death, the City of Haifa dedicated a square to Primo Levi in the Ramat Shaul district. During the ceremony, in which the Mayor of the Israeli city Yona Yahav and the Italian Ambassador in Israel Francesco Maria Talò took part, the greeting of Mayor Fassino were aired. The Mayor underlined the commitment of Torino in building cohabitation and integration paths, as well as the programmes for fighting intolerance, racism, discrimination and anti-Semitism. On the occasion, the Italian Institute of Culture of Haifa hosted a photo exhibition dedicated to the museums of Torino.
A delegation of Warsaw, led by the Vice Mayor Michal Olszewski, stayed in Torino for a few days in order to discuss issues related to mobility and traffic management. The delegation was welcomed by 5T Srl (Torino, Technologies, Telematics, Transports, Traffic), the Environment Park and the Urban Centre Metropolitano.
The Banlieues d'Europe network carried out in Torino its 19th meeting, entitled "The Role of Culture Faced with the Rise of Nationalism in Europe". The event was realized in collaboration with the City of Torino and District 2.
The Urban Investment Network of the Urban Land Instiute carried out in Torino, in collaboration with the City and the Association Torino Internazionale, the workshop "Business-friendly Cities" dedicated to the winning models in attracting investments in public policies.

Executive Committee
The City of Torino, member of the international network since 1992, obtains a seat on the EUROCITIES Executive Committee. The election took place during the Annual Assembly of the network that was held in Nantes and in which participated the Deputy Mayor Enzo Lavolta. Torino for three years will sit together with many other European important cities: Barcelona, Ghent, Leipzig, The Hague, Copenhagen, Warsaw, Budapest, Stockholm, Nantes, Birmingham and Vienna.
During the Assembly the Deputy Mayor also subscribed the Green Digital Charter, an initiative of the cities aiming at developing smart innovation projects for sustainability.

At the European Parliament, the Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Deputy Mayor in charge of Sport, Free Time and IS systems of the City of Torino Stefano Gallo received from the President of the European Capitals of Sport Association, Gianfrancesco Lupattelli, the flag to be exposed during all the sport events in Torino.
