The Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Italy H.E. Stanislav Vallo had a meeting with the Mayor Sergio Chiamparino. The meeting focused on the future perspectives of collaboration between Torino and some cities of the Slovak Republic.
A delegation coming from the Rumanian district of Bihor and made up of the Mayors of seven Rumanian cities has been welcomed by the City of Torino. The meeting focused on the future collaborations as regards to European projects concerning Public Administration, Information System, tourism and urban regeneration.
The last meeting of the EUROCITIES Euromed Working Group, chaired by the City of Torino, has been organized in Fès (Morocco). Representatives from 18 European and Mediterranean cities participated in the event. The meeting has been dedicated to the bilateral exchanges in the field of professional training, to the role of culture and of the emancipation of women for the development of the Mediterranean region, to the new projects of cooperation in the framework of the EC programme MED PACT.
The President of the City Council, Alessandro Altamura, met the Deputy Mayor of the City of Riga, Almers Ludviks. The meeting focused on the organisation of the Chess Olympic Games, since Riga is the candidate host city for 2010.
A delegation of about sixty people from around the world and organised by the ONLUS Friends of the Art Museum of Tel Aviv, has visited the most important contemporary art museums in Turin. Mayor Sergio Chiamparino met the Mayor of Tel Aviv, Ron Huldai. The meeting focused on the future possible co-operation in the field of culture.
