è nato nel 1970. Insegna teoria e solfeggio al Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana e collabora saltuariamente come critico musicale con il quotidiano "Il Corriere del Ticino" e il settimanale "Azione". Dal 1994 collabora con "Oggimusica", associazione per la promozione e la diffusione della nuova musica. RICONOSCIMENTI. 1999: selezionato per il Gaudeamus Music Week 1999 di Amsterdam. 1998: selezionato per il Gaudeamus Music Week 1998 di Amsterdam; "1ère mention" al Concours International de Composition musicale pour orchestre de Besançon. 1997: secondo premio al Mozartwettbewerb Salzburg (Mozarteum); selezionato per il Gaudeamus Music Week 1997 di Amsterdam. 1996: premiato al Kompositionswettbewerb für Kammermusik Wintertuhr; selezionato per il Gaudeamus Music Week 1996 di Amsterdam; Premio Pro Helvetia per la creazione musicale. 1994: vince il primo premio ex æquo attribuito dall'Institut für Neue Musik der Hochschule der Künste di Berlino. Scelto a rappresentare la città di Milano alla Biennale dei giovani artisti del Mediterraneo di Lisbona. 1992: premiato al concorso Forum junger Komponisten organizzato dalla Westdeutsche Rundfunk di Colonia.

RECOGNITIONS. 1999: selected for the Gaudeamus Music Week 1999 of Amsterdam. 1998: selected for the Gaudeamus Music Week 1998 of Amsterdam; "1ère mention" at the Concours International de Composition musicale for the Besançon orchestra. 1997: second prize at the Mozartwettbewerb Salzburg (Mozarteum); selected for the Gaudeamus Music Week 1997 of Amsterdam. 1996: selected for the Gaudeamus Music Week 1996 of Amsterdam; Kompositions wettbewerb für Kammermusik Wintertuhr; Pro Helvetia Prize for musical creation. 1994: awarded first prize ex æqueo by the Institut für Neue Musik der Hochschule der Künste di Berlino; Chosen to represent the city of Milan at the Biennial of Young Mediterranean Artists of Lisbon. 1992: awarded a prize at the Forum junger Komponisten competition, organised by Westdeutsche Rundfunk of Cologne. The Christoph Delz Foundation of Basle has awarded him an annual composer's grant. He has also been selected for a grant for the year 2000 by the Schloss-Solitude Foundation of Stuttgart.
