Ogni giorno vado fuori e poi torno indietro. Niente mi stimola, è tutto privo di significato. Cosa sto facendo? Cos’è che mi spinge a fare qualcosa? Non riesco a ricordare come mi sono svegliato ieri notte. Tutto quel che desidero sapere è in che modo la mia anima se ne va lentamente via e poi ritorna. Ogni tanto mi trovo a vagabondare per le vie di Pechino e i suoi confini, senza distinguere fra i due. Per qualcuno che esiste in tali realtà come me, i sogni sono indispensabili. Immagino che il significato della mia vita sia di gettarmi nella vita quotidiana e poi prendere congedo dalla vita quotidiana, costruire una storia usando la mia immaginazione, in modo che questo mondo esista.

Everyday I go out and come back. Nothing can make me excited, all is meaningless. What am I doing? What makes me do anything? I cannot remember how I awoke last night. All I desire is to know how my soul slowly goes away and returns. Now and then I find myself wandering along the streets of Beijing and its borders, not distinguishing between the two. For someone like me who exists in such realities, dreams are indispensable. I guess the meaning of my life is to thrust myself into everyday life and leave behind everyday life, to use my imagination and make up a story that is, as a story, as this world is, as a world.
