High Risk Company

"Il ponte di Arta" è un mito greco tradizionale che ai nostri giorni ha ancora la stessa efficacia. Rappresenta il conflitto dell'uomo con se stesso. Durante il giorno cercavano di costruire il ponte. Durante la notte, il ponte crollava. Per diventare saldo, il ponte ha bisogno del sacrificio della moglie del caposquadra. La moglie del caposquadra viene sacrificata. Il ponte viene costruito. Il caposquadra impazzisce. Il perdono arriva con l'intercessione divina.
Giannis Kontrafouris, il regista, si è laureato alla Scuola di Arte Drammatica "Karolus Koun" come attore. Ha lavorato con importanti registi come Michael Marmarinos, Stamatis Fasoulis, Minos Volonakis. Nel 1997 ha creato la High Risk Company; ha diretto "The bridge of Arta", scritto da George Theotokas e ha vinto il primo premio "Melina Mercuri" come regista alla prima opera. Gli altri membri del gruppo sono: Nestor Kopsidas, Dimitra Karalia, Dimitra Papadimitriou, Athanasia Karayianopoulou e Stavros Panousis.

"The Bridge of Arta" is a traditional Greek myth that retains its power even today. It represents man's conflict with himself. All day long they try to raise the bridge, and all night long it comes falling down. To become solid the bridge needs the sacrifice of the foreman's wife. The foreman's wife is sacrificed. The bridge is built. The foreman goes mad. Forgiveness comes with the intervention of God.
Giannis Kontrafouris, the director, graduated at the drama school "Karolus Koun" Art Theatre as an actor. He worked with distinguished directors like Michael Marmarinos, Stamatis Fasoulis, Minos Volonakis. In 1997, Giannis Kontrafouris created the High Risk Company; he directed "The bridge of Arta", written by George Theotokas, and was awarded the "Melina Mercuri" prize for his debut as director. The other members of the group are Nestor Kopsidas, Dimitra Karalia, Dimitra Papadimitriou, Athanasia Karayianopoulou and Stavros Panousis.
