"The Barcontainer" è un progetto per dimostrare in che misura i mobili influenzino le strutture sociali. Per raggiungere quest'obiettivo abbiamo scelto un'istituzione pubblica: più precisamente la nostra scuola, la Fachhochschule Düsseldorf. L'edificio in sé si può facilmente descrivere come statico e anonimo, carente di spazi di scambio ed espressione personali. Quindi ci è venuta l'idea di creare uno spazio ameno, che permettesse l'interazione personale. Per far ciò, abbiamo pensato a una sbarra, che doveva essere auto-sufficiente e mobile, e di conseguenza di uso flessibile. Come in molte cucine dovrebbe esserci un misto vivace di funzioni, forme e materiali. Da un lato i vari elementi funzionali della sbarra sono stati assemblati dentro una cornice d'acciaio statica, che sottolinea la forma specifica e il fascino di questi elementi. Dall'altro, la combinazione di materiali usati che abbiamo raccolto per la strada, crea un'atmosfera di riconoscimento, associazione e ricordi individuali.
Sono nate rispettivamente nel 1971, 1968 e 1969. Nel 1996 è cominciata la loro collaborazione nell'ambito del corso di design del Politecnico FH di Düsseldorf.

"The Barcontainer" is a project to demonstrate, to what extent furniture influences social structures. To accomplish this task we chose a public institution: more precisely our place of training, the Fachhochschule Düsseldorf. The building as such could easily be described as static and anonymous, lacking space for personal exchange and expression. Thus we came up with the idea of creating an amenity piece, to enable personal interaction. We were thinking of a bar that had to be self-sufficient and mobile, and hence flexible in use. As in many kitchens there should be a vivid medley of functions, forms and materials. On the one hand the various functional elements of the bar were assembled within a static steel frame, still emphasising the specific shape and charm of those elements. On the other hand, the combination of used materials that we collected in the streets, created an atmosphere of recognition, association and individual memories.
Born respectively in 1971, 1968 e 1969. In 1996 their collaboration started in the context of their interior design course at the Polytechnical University FH Düsseldorf.
