Jyrki Karttunnen - Nomadi

"Digital Duende" è il titolo della performance. La Finlandia incontra la Spagna in questo arguto, dettagliato e brillante incontro danzato fra due uomini. Gli accenti ispanici non sono il frutto di una mera ricerca, ma scaturiscono piuttosto dall’apprezzamento per la musica pop e la cinematografia, ed ogni stravaganza rimane circoscritta all’interno dei confini nordici di un sistema computerizzato.
Jyrki Karttunen, coreografo e ballerino, è nato nel 1969. Dal 1993, da quando fa il ballerino freelance, si è esibito in molte coreografie importanti, oltre a creare coreografie per suo conto. Nel 1996 e nel 1999 Karttunen è stato insignito di un sussidio statale triennale per la danza. Karttunen è diventato noto come coreografo con il lavoro "Digital Duende". è stato invitato a parecchi festival ed eventi internazionali, tra cui la Aerowaves Season di Londra a gennaio 2000.
Teemu Kyytinen, ballerino, nato nel 1970. è stato campione finlandese di freestyle sugli sci ed ha deciso di dedicarsi alla danza dopo una carriera nella squadra nazionale finlandese.
Kimmo Karjunen, designer di luci e suono, nato nel 1967. I suoi lavori riguardano soprattutto il design d’illuminazione per la danza contemporanea e per l’architettura. L’ultimo membro del gruppo è Iiris Autio.

"Digital Duende" is the title of the performance. Finland meets Spain in this witty, detailed and brilliantly danced encounter for two men. The Hispanic accents are not the result of dull research, but instead have been accumulated through the enjoyment of popular music and movies, and any extravagance is contained within the Nordic confines of a computer generated system.
Jyrki Karttunen, choreographer and dancer, was born in 1969. Since 1993, when he became a freelance dancer, he has performed in many major contemporary choreographers works in addition to creating choreographies of his own. In 1996 and 1999, he was awarded three-year state grants for dance. Karttunen first achieved fame as a choreographer with his work "Digital Duende". It has been invited to several international festivals and venues, including the Aerowaves Season in London in January 2000.
Teemu Kyytinen, dancer, was born in 1970. He is a former Finnish Champion in freestyle-skiing who decided to pursue dancing after a career in the Finnish National Team.
Kimmo Karjunen, lighting and sound designer, born in 1967. His work consist mainly in lighting design for contemporary dance and light architecture. The other component of the group is Iiris Autio.
