"An Injury in the Village". Possono esistere due realtà parallele solo perché si stanno verificando contemporaneamente due giochi linguistici? Questo è ciò che accade a Maria che non è isolata per via dell'età, quanto per il suo modo particolare di parlare delle cose. Per Maria il tempo prende la forma di veicoli nella strada, e consente ai protagonisti di passare a fasi precedenti della loro vita. In altre parole, Maria è convinta che gli autobus che passano siano minuti che finiranno per fare a pezzi le persone, ed è altrettanto sicura che col passare del tempo la gente normale diventa più giovane, mentre lei diventa più vecchia. Entrambe le concezioni richiedono una ricostruzione originale del concetto di tempo. Tuttavia, queste ricostruzioni conducono alle stesse conseguenze normalmente associate col tempo: distrugge le persone e questa distruzione fa posto alle nuove generazioni.

"An Injury in the Village". Can there be two realities living alongside each other just because there are two language games happening at the same time? This is what happens to Maria, who is not isolated by age as much as by her peculiar way of talking about things. For Maria time takes the form of vehicles in the street, allowing characters to move to earlier stages of life. In other words, Maria is convinced that busses going by are minutes that eventually crush people to death, and she is just as certain that ordinary people get younger with time while she gets older. Both conceptions involve original re-constructions of the concept of time. However, these re-constructions lead back to the same consequences that we ordinarily associate with time: it destroys people, and this destruction leaves space for new generations.
