Il progetto prevede il coinvolgimento di Furio Di Castri, jazzista torinese di assoluto valore europeo, per costruire un workshop di sei giorni sul tema del melting pot culturale, che prevede un'esibizione finale dal vivo. L'area geografica e culturale di riferimento e l'appuntamento di BIG Torino 2000 e Sarajevo 2001 (Biennale dell'Europa e del Mediterraneo) ci spingono a pensare a un tema strettamente legato al Mediterraneo e a tutte le sue sponde. Crediamo che il contributo dei paesi di confine in Europa, quelli dell'area del mediterraneo e dell'est, del vicino oriente e del nord-africa, possa rappresentare la chiave di volta della musica nel nuovo secolo.

The project is directed by Furio Di Castri, famous european jazzman from Turin, to build up a six-day workshop about cultural melting pot, with a final live concert. The geographical and cultural area of connections and the two meeting points, BIG Torino 2000 and the Sarajevo 2001 Biennial of Europe and Mediterranean, are carrying us to think about a theme strictly fixed to Mediterranean sea, and all of its coasts. We think that the contribute of the border-line countries, the mediterranean and east Europe countries, the middle-east and north-african countries, could represent the real changing key for the new century music.
