"Psalms" (per violoncello) rivela un mondo armonico nascosto attraverso l'amplificazione del corpo degli strumenti. In ogni parte usa due corde dello strumento (c-g, g-d, d-a). La corda alta porta la melodia mentre quella bassa funge da nota-pedale. "Tre canzoni su Dylan Thomas" (per soprano, piano e viola). In queste tre canzoni sulla poesia di Dylan Thomas ha cercato di ascoltare molto attentamente le parole e di distinguere il ritmo, la musica e l'atmosfera delle poesie. Si trattava semplicemente di metterle per iscritto. "Il melodramma Medea" (per soprano, clarinetto, percussioni e nastro magnetico) è un monologo musicale basato sulla storia della "Medea" di Euripide. "Psalms" (for cello) reveals a hidden harmonic world by amplifying the instruments body. In each part he uses two strings of the instrument (c-g, g-d, d-a). In these three songs on Dylan Thomas's poetry he tried to listen to the words very carefully and to distinguish the rhythm, the music and the atmosphere of the poems. The job was simply to write them down. "Medea Melodrama" (for soprano, clarinet, percussion and tape), is a musical monologue based on the story of "Medea" by Euripides. The music, using a lot of percussive sounds, follows and supports the drama.
Born in 1967. He has composed music for film, theatre, dance, opera and music-theatre, and has collaborated with visual artists and poets. He is co-founder of the companies Arion and Utrechts Componisten Collectief, and artistic co-director of the company Music Theatre Group of Amsterdam.
